Meet the team

Our team of surveyors have a wide range of expertise in a number of areas including property surveys, building defect diagnosis, project management, building conservation, planning applications and the preparation of working drawings. We specialise in providing support services to property management companies, large and small, being knowledgeable of the landlord and tenant Act 1995, Section 20 procedure and the difference between maintenance and improvement works.

 

  • Manell Taki

    OFFICE MANAGER
    LLB Law

    Manell began her journey at True Associates as PA to Senior Surveyor Peter Monk, quickly proving herself as a highly organized and detail-oriented professional. With a Law Degree completed in 2021, she has advanced through the ranks, stepping into the role of Office Manager. In this position, she ensures the smooth running of daily operations and management of the admin team, while fostering a positive and efficient work environment. Dedicated and proactive, Manell takes pride in her work, making her an invaluable part of the team.

  • Peter Monk

    SENIOR BUILDING SURVEYOR

    Senior Surveyor Peter joined the team in 2016 having previously worked in Surveying and Project Management roles for, amongst others, The National Exhibition Centre, Pirelli Tyres UK, local government and more recently, for Crabtree a Residential Property Management Company. As a result, Peter has attained experience of managing a wide range of projects on residential, commercial, industrial, public amenity and retail properties. His previous experience has primarily been centred around internal and external redecoration and repair projects and defects diagnosis.

  • Alan Bear

    PLANNING CONSULTANT AND ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICIAN

    Alan started his working life as an architectural assistant in a small architectural practise over 25 years ago, becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Builders a few year later and more recently joining the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

    Alan has worked on a variety of projects from shop and office refurbishment, detailing of accommodation modules for oil rigs in the North Sea and various residential projects, loft conversions, extensions etc, making up a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with planning officers.

  • Rachael Yeung

    PA TO THE DIRECTOR

    We are excited to welcome Rachael to the team as our new PA to the Director. She brings strong organisational skills, efficiency, and a proactive approach to keeping things running smoothly. With a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude, Rachael ensures top-level support and seamless day-to-day operations. Her ability to multitask and stay ahead of the game makes her an invaluable asset to the team. We’re thrilled to have her on board and look forward to her contributions.

  • Jacqueline Hill

    SPECIALIST PARTY WALL SURVEYOR

    Jacqueline joined the administrative team in 2017 as Personal Assistant to Senior Building Surveyor Peter Monk. Through her professionalism, initiative, and strong work ethic, she quickly progressed to the role of Head of Administration, becoming a valued and integral member of the firm.

    More recently, Jacqueline has demonstrated a clear commitment to her professional development by undertaking out-of-hours study in areas relevant to Party Wall surveying. As a result, she now leads Party Wall instructions at True Associates in her capacity as Specialist Surveyor, while actively working towards Faculty membership.

  • Kara Michael-Brown

    PA TO SENIOR SURVEYOR

    Kara is the new PA for Peter Monk, bringing with her a strong background in marketing and a degree in English and Creative Writing. Her experience has equipped her with excellent organisational skills, a creative approach to problem-solving, and a keen eye for detail. She’s a great addition to the team.

  • Peter McGovern

    BUILDING SURVEYOR
    BSc Psychology, MSc Building Surveying

    Peter joined the True Associates team in 2022 as an Assistant Building Surveyor. Coming from a family of builders, Peter grew up working in construction where he gained a wide range of experience and a good practical knowledge of the domestic construction sector.

    Peter began studying for a MSc in Building Surveying in 2021 and alongside his ongoing university studies he further embarked on a 24-month structured training programme to become a Chartered member of the RICS, aided by the experienced guidance of our Director Harry (MRICS) and Senior Surveyor Peter Monk (ASSOC RICS).

    So far Peter has proven himself to be a reliable and valuable member of the True Associates team and we look forward to this continuing.
